K9 / BK7 Optical Dome

Product Overview

Optical domes are hollow optical components with curved inner and outer spherical surfaces and a circular opening.

They provide a protective optical interface while allowing light to pass through over a wide range of viewing angles.

Materials, diameters, dome heights, wall thicknesses, surface quality, and coatings can be customized to meet specific requirements.

Applications

  • Underwater Imaging: Used as protective dome ports for underwater cameras and imaging systems, helping maintain a wide field of view.
  • Surveillance & Monitoring: Protects camera optics in panoramic surveillance and environmental monitoring systems.
  • Optical Sensors: Provides a curved protective window for sensors that receive light from multiple directions.
  • Scientific Instruments: Used in optical measurement and experimental systems requiring a protective spherical interface.
